Members of the community also raised money with a charity walk

To mark the winter solstice, Glasgow Science Centre, Sauchiehall Street, and the Kibble Palace at the Botanic Gardens lit up in all green to raise awareness for child protection charity the NSPCC and its Childline counselling service.

On the longest night of the year as the green lights were illuminated, the charity invited families, friends and colleagues to take part in a sponsored walk. People took part in the 5km walk to raise money and support the NSPCC and its Childline service this Christmas.The service's counsellors deal with calls about many concerns and issues such as abuse, neglect, self-harm, and anxiety.
