Residents in the north of the city are living in fear

On the same day of the murder, at around 6.10am , a white Vauxhall Astra was discovered on fire in nearby Gadie. The vehicle fire is being treated by wilful. The resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: "It's been pretty bad for gangland activity in the area. Last week there was the car that was ditched and then torched at the end of our street."These gangland guys tend to attack each other, but they don't always get the right guy. They shot and killed the wrong guy in Milton a couple of years back. There's always a worry that you could be caught in the crossfire.
Detective Chief Inspector Lynsey Watters of Police Scotland said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Bowers' family and we are providing them with support at this very difficult time. Our investigation into his murder and the attempted murder of the second man is ongoing and I would urge anyone who can help to get in touch as soon as you can.
