A recent study found a staggering 77% of men didn't think infidelity whilst on holiday counted as 'real cheating', but just 27% of women agreed.
A Glasgow woman has spoken of how she "always cheats" on her long-term partner while on holiday, claiming "it doesn't count because it's abroad".
She said it first happened in her mid-20s, telling the Mirror: "I was in Greece with girlfriends, and it was with a guy from our hotel as his friends and mine were hanging out as a big group. We got together a couple of times while we were there, I still think about it now!" "There's probably loads of little reasons. It's reliving some of my wilder days on party holidays, obviously alcohol, and I just feel free when I'm abroad. I suppose I do have a really high sex drive too and that comes out on holiday. Me and my friends are an attractive group too, so we often get attention from other groups of blokes. A few times it's not been sex, just late nights with another man talking, drinking and kissing.
She added she doesn't think her partner would ever find out about her ways and "doesn't feel guilty" for her behaviour. However she said she doesn't think he would cheat on her. "Of course, there are the more obvious reasons. Alcohol is a factor for thousands of Brits heading off on their summer holiday – combine that with meeting fellow big groups on holiday and you’ve got the perfect mix for flirting which can easily lead to intimacy with a random lover."
