The R & A said that, due to demand, over 2 million balls have been hit at the range in just eight weeks, causing the ground conditions of the driving range outfield to deteriorate.
The organisation behind one of Glasgow's most exciting new attractions says they are having to close their driving range for around six weeks after unprecedented demand and the recent bad weather caused the outfield to deteriorate.
Posting about the short-term closure, the R & A team said: "We want to thank you for this fantastic support. Golf It! has proved so popular and your reaction has been so positive that we have seen tens of thousands of visitors already come through the doors in just a short period of time. They confirmed the closures will allow them to undertake works to upgrade and enhance the outfield to ensure it remains in "optimal condition during periods of high demand".
