Google Maps Street View images show the little changes in Lancashire over the years
Google Maps has truly changed the way we navigate. At just a click of a button, we can see almost any street in any country around the world. There are now over 220 billion Street View images taken in over 100 countries and territories across the world.
Back in 2008, the Google car did its first tour of Lancashire, capturing the streets of towns and cities across the county. As it does ever year, the infamous car has captured new images for parts of Lancashire this year. The car also has lasers which reflect off buildings and other objects and help Google to create 3D models for their maps. This information helps create the bird's-eye views, looking down on the city that can also be viewed in Street View.
Turf Moor in Burnley has seen major modernisation in recent years, and looks nothing like what it id when Google Maps first captured it in 2009, where as Exchange Street in Blackburn looks like nothing has changed - with the exception of a new Wilko.
