Locals say the inconsiderate parking is putting the public at risk
Govanhill residents have slammed 'selfish' drivers who are putting the public at risk by repeatedly parking on pavements and over pedestrian crossings.
Concerns have also been raised that the vehicles are creating accessibility issues for wheelchair users and people with prams.One local told Glasgow Live: "It's just beyond belief how selfish drivers can be to park on pavements and dump their cars at pedestrian crossings. Councillor Soryia Siddique and Govanhill Hub chair Gordon Smith have been forced to raise the issue with Glasgow City Council and Police Scotland in a bid to get enforcement in the area.
There are currently no regulatory restrictions in the area with any enforcement the responsibility of police.
