Festival owner says she plans to help young people into farming after criticism of the purchase.
She said the Green Man organisation had worked with the Welsh government helping to promote Wales and Welsh products for many years, and they had talked about how to "diversify the brand and create jobs".
Regarding Gilestone Farm, Ms Stewart added: "They [Welsh government] saw it as a new model because they retain the assets. "Owning it would have been nice, I would have liked to have done that, and that certainly was my intention."Ms Stewart's company will pay a commercial rent to the Welsh government who bought the farm for £4.5m
The plans for Gilestone would not involve events in 2023, but the year after there would be one event for between 1,000 and 2,000 people, "depending on what local people thought about it".and of Ms Stewart herself, she said: "I've been accused of being a hippy on a number of occasions, and that I'm going to set up a hippy commune, that's not what I am about, I'm a business woman, and very proud of it.
