Insulate Britain activists have been widely slated on safety grounds after infuriating motorists by blocking traffic on the M25 and causing huge tailbacks.

The day after voting closes, the London Assembly Member and Camden councillor said she would be out campaigning to coincide with the global general strike on climate this Friday. Though not the first campaign of its kind, the strike – mainly organised by decentralised groups of local children – is returning for the first time since the pandemic.

‘A lot of campaigns are mobilising around that day, to draw attention to particular big changes that need to be made’, the Green Party leader said.She added: ‘Ever since young people have been doing , I think they have really increased the amount of participation there is in places that are not central London and that has helped to bring the climate crisis home to people.
