PureGym says customers will be able to use a huge selection of state-of-the-art kit, including cardio, functional, and free weights
The country's largest gym chain has announced another branch will soon open at a Nottinghamshire supermarket. Staff at PureGym, the biggest gym operator in the UK, said they were not in a position to comment when previously asked about an application for its logo and branding to be put onto part of the Sainsbury's store off the Colwick Loop Road in Colwick.
But now PureGym has announced on its website that the new gym will open at 12pm on September 29. The company's site says customers will be able to use a large selection of state-of-the-art kit, including cardio, functional, and free weights. Users will also be able to take advantage of free Wi-Fi, parking, and work with personal trainers. The gym will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and currently has an opening offer of £12.99 per month.PureGym has a number of facilities across Nottinghamshire, with branches in Basford, Castle Marina, West Bridgford and Beeston. The Sainsbury's itself is a relatively new addition to the area, having opened in November 2021.
A builders' merchant, a branch of MKM building supplies, is also being set up on a patch of derelict land in front of the Sainsbury's off the A612 Colwick Loop Road. Work is also progressing on the Teal Park trade park next to the Rivendell housing estate nearby. Hundreds of homes are being built at the huge Rivendell estate, between Netherfield and Stoke Bardolph, along with a new school. Plans to do with the signs for the gym were previously submitted to Gedling Borough Council.
