Frank McGinity, 88, recalled the moment he was turned away as he tried to share a sweet neighbourly gesture
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's neighbour has opened up on the moment he claims he was "snubbed" outside their mansion. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated to Montecito, California, after stepping down as senior working royals in 2020.
Navy veteran Frank attempted to introduce himself to the couple and deliver a gift to the royals upon their move to the area but was turned away at the gate. In a chapter of his memoir, Get Off Your Street, he wrote: "I have a big house next to Harry and Meghan’s property and I live in the guest house while renting the main house out on Airbnb."
He wrote: "The gate guy turned me away and wouldn’t take the film, just saying ‘they’re not interested.’ I was trying to be neighbourly." He continued: "We don’t see them very much around here. It’s surprising they came here. People are typically older." He told OK!: “Harry and Meghan are experiencing a crisis of identity, a crisis of purpose and a crisis of finance. “Who are they, what are they going to do in the future? I think they’ve exhausted their possibilities and have hit a brick wall.”
