Helen Skelton talked about her barmaid days on a new Channel 4 appearance
Countryfile presenter Helen Skelton revealed her old job as she explored the history of Guinness on a Channel 4 programme.
Viewers got to see how the Irish dry stout is made, the history behind the brand, how it's grown and adapted over the years and the advertisements that were used to promote the drink. She also got to speak with the brand’s quality control and the face behind an Instagram account that “sl**s off” bad Guinness pints and how they react quickly to make sure the pints are of high quality. Helen then showed off her skills as she pulled a perfect pint and revealed she used to work in a bar.
Helen worked as a waitress, a barmaid and in a shop while studying for a degree in journalism from the Cumbria Institute of Arts before she became a host on BBC Radio Cumbria, which is how her career first began.
