Mukul Biswas reports for work at an office in Glasgow in a flashy Porsche Taycan electric supercar but has been accused of failing to act on asbestos dangers at his hotel
Bosses of dingy homeless hotels have been accused of living in the lap of luxury while residents have put up with shameful conditions over the years.
Former maintenance manager Willie Stafford has accused Biswas of ignoring a report that flagged up potentially dangerous levels of the toxic material, which causes cancer, at the St Enoch Hotel in Glasgow. Businesses run by Biswas, along with partners Ikram Hussain and his son Adam, have collected millions of pounds in guaranteed rents from Glasgow City Council, which is trying to fend off a homelessness crisis.
After the demise of Hill Glasgow Ltd, management of the St Enoch’s business transferred to Harhill Ltd - whose sole director was Ikram Hussain.Another company - Rooms Glasgow Ltd - was formed in April, 2022, with Adam Hussain and Mukul Biswas as directors.Glasgow City Council has admitted it did not investigate claims that an asbestos report was ignored by the hotel management.
