Why Top Gun: Maverick has been a record-breaking hit
might be a sequel, but it's also not like the MCU where you're worried you might not understand it.It repeats the structure of the first movie and if you haven't seen it, it's a fairly standard redemption tale for Maverick. That's only part of its appeal though, as it's a throwback: an unashamedly sincere blockbuster that seeks only to entertain., but it's mainly a thrilling spectacle that leaves you on a high.
