'The nice little town of Bacup gets overlooked all the time and we hope opening this business is a revolution for the town.'
The Station Brew opened on Market Street in Bacup on Sunday, June 25, and is owned by firefighters David Loney and Aaron Goult, who have been good friends for four years.
The former Fearns school student took the leap of opening a business with Aaron, who moved to Bacup four years ago from Leeds, after discussing the lack of diverse choices in Bacup.Dave, who has been working in the fire service for 26 years, said: “I was born and raised in Bacup and so I have seen that Bacup needs a business like this. All the bad press Bacup is getting, we need to change that.
“I am a firm believer that we shouldn’t moan about something and then do nothing. My vision for the future is for Bacup to be up and coming. Seeing shop lit up at night was such a proud moment and cathartic moment. "The nice little town of Bacup gets overlooked all the time and we hope opening this business is a revolution for the town. It deserves more than derelict buildings on every view.
“So far we have received fantastic feedback from our customers who love the decor and the food and we hope to support other businesses.”
