No ULEZ signage “temporary, warning, or otherwise” will be allowed in Hertfordshire, an open letter has confirmed.

Council leader Richard Roberts’ letter, published yesterday , said: “We believe that implementing this expansion will disproportionately impact some of the poorest in society and potentially price them off the roads.

“The county council has for a number of months been making representations on your behalf to try and persuade the Mayor of London to pause the expansion and look to redraw the ULEZ boundary. However, the councillor said that he recognised the need to provide necessary information so people can make informed choices. The letter therefore provided aCalling on Home Counties leaders to reverse their decision not to allow Ulez signs, the mayor’s spokesperson previously said: “Councils have a responsibility to ensure their residents and all motorists are aware of important changes that may impact drivers.
