Suspicious package found at high security prison in West Yorkshire
A controlled explosion was carried out at a West Yorkshire prison after a "suspicious package" was found.
An officer called emergency crews to HMP Wakefield, a high-security jail housing up to 750 men, on Thursday after the discovery on a prison wing. After bomb disposal experts had examined it and found it contained no harmful materials, the explosion was then carried out, according to police.A Prison Service spokesperson said the incident was resolved with no injuries to staff or prisoners.Follow BBC Yorkshire on
