The Times listed it as the fourth most popular resort in the UK
Skegness holidaymakers have praised the town for being “affordable” with “lots to do'' after it was named the fourth most popular resort in the UK. The seaside town has been given the ranking as one of the 50 best beaches in the UK in an annual round up by The Times.
Joy Allen, 58, and Lynn Cunningham, 58, from Doncaster, are staying at The Rufford Hotel which they come to often. Ms Allen said: "We do come to Skegness quite often. I'm disabled so it's accessible for me. It suits us. They could do with a ramp on the pier though."Ms Cunningham said: "It's quite cheap here and I like to go around the shops." Simon Robinson, 54, from Leeds, is staying in an apartment in Skegness with his wife and son.
"If the weather is good we go to the beach but if it's not we go to places like the Sealife Centre." Mother and daughter, Molly Broadhurst, 77, and Julie Cassim, 53, from Sheffield, were enjoying an ice cream near the promenade and are staying in a caravan at Chapel St Leonards.
