Storm Babet has caused disruption across Nottinghamshire
Homes in a Nottinghamshire village have been evacuated as severe flooding continues to impact the county. Communities including Hucknall, Lowdham and Bestwood Village have been among those most affected by Storm Babet, which has brought heavy rain and winds throughout Friday, October 20.
Nottinghamshire Police has now confirmed officers supported the evacuation of properties in Edwinstowe. Homes in Mill Lane and High Street are among those affected, the force said in a statement. It has also been confirmed the village hall will be available for use by people with nowhere else to go. A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said: "We are currently helping people who have been evacuated from their homes in Edwinstowe because of flooding. A number of homes are affected in Mill Lane and High Street. Edwinstowe Village Hall is being used as a refuge for those with nowhere else to stay.
