Matthew Hurst was seen repeatedly kicking his helpless dog Congo in an attack described by an RSPCA inspector as 'the worst' he had ever seen. The 23-year-old could be heard shouting "what are you doing?" at the poor dog, after it urinated or defected on the floor of his living room.

READ MORE: Man stamps on dog fifteen times shouting 'what are you doing' in 'worst beating ever seen' Hurst, of Wigan, was also sentenced to a suspended 16-week jail term, the RSPCA said. He will have to undertake 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days, carry out 120 hours of unpaid work, pay £2,558 in court costs and a £120 victim surcharge.
