Horrifying pictures show canal in Salford Quays brimming with huge piles of litter
A canal in Salford Quays has been spotted overflowing with rubbish - making an eyesore for local residents and tourists.
Other items such as milk containers, plastic boxes and bits of debris could also been seen floating around in the water on Monday morning .It comes just a day after fancy dress swimmers braved the freezing cold water at the Quays on New Year's Day as part of an annual event raising money for charity.
Leaders at Salford Council have previously explained that the rubbish could be a result of higher rainfall washing debris into the quays from other parts of the region.
