'All things being equal, I’d have rather slept in the beer garden'
A Northern Quarter pub has been forced to defend itself after scathing reviews were posted online about its hotel rooms which were described as being ‘dirty’ and in an ‘unthinkable state’.
One guest, who posted about their stay in July with a two out of five rating, said they felt the hotel’s cleaners ‘had been abducted by aliens’ due to their ‘absolutely filthy’ room. The guest wrote: “The place was disgusting!“Their cleaners must have been abducted by aliens because that can be the only explanation of the state of this property.
The reviewer however added that staff ‘tried to be helpful’ and their bed was ‘actually surprisingly comfortable’. Stonegate, which operates the pub alongside an independent owner, said it would look into the reviews highlighted.
