How I Manage My Christmas Budget: Mum of 4, on £800 a month, who 'cash-stuffed' to buy presents ⬇️ In this series, we speak to people to find out how they are saving and spending money during the festive period

I started cash-stuffing for Christmas presents in October and have managed to save up £500. I hope to be able to add a further £100 to this total before Christmas Day. Next year I’ll start cash-stuffing for Christmas presents a bit earlier!

I’ll be spending about £100 to £150 each on my children’s Christmas presents, but slightly less on Maximus, who is very young. I will purchase a gym mat for my daughter, and she has also asked for smaller items like play make-up, hair bobbles and new trainers. I will be looking at experiences for the older children or some new headphones for their gaming.

I’ll be spending up to £150 in total on gifts for close family members. I’m involved in two Secret Santas at work and won’t be spending too much on friends. I’m leaving it all pretty last-minute, but will have a look online and in the shops to ensure I get the best deals. Some of the pre-Christmas events we are going to as a family are pretty expensive, namely the Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry, which will cost £170 for the six of us.

We did look at eating out on Christmas Day for a change, but this would have been way too expensive. One restaurant we looked at was charging £65 per adult for food and about £40 per child, and this was excluding drinks. We’re now eating at our house, and theWhen it comes to the Boxing Day sales, I’d love to be able to buy some camera equipment to help me run my YouTube channel. However, this is something I will slowly need to save up for, so it’s not on the cards just yet.
