A more practical Plan C would be the draft. Alabama’s Bryce Young seems to be the most likely No. 1 pick, which would leave Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud and Kentucky’s Will Levis for the pool of QB-needy teams in the top 10. If the Raiders aren’t sold on either or simply aren’t in position to draft one of them, Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker and Stanford’s Tanner McKee are projected to be Day 2 picks.
That’s a big chance, though. And did the Raiders really bench Carr right now to leave things to chance? No, they ensured it would become easier to get out of his contract after the season.
