A man was located and brought to safety
A huge emergency response was prompted at a beauty spot in Rochdale after police were called following concerns for the welfare of a man.
A member of the public had rang the force saying they were concerned for the welfare of a man between Tunshill Lane and Rakewood Road - which runs parallel to the lake.Officers located a man and brought him to safety. No arrests have been made and he is said to have received support from specialist services. It's not believed the man had entered the water, but was found on some steps nearby.
One woman said she saw five police cars, a tactical aid unit, and a rapid response ambulance at the scene.
