Human remains discovered in woods confirmed as man missing for two decades
The remains of a man who went missing over two decades ago have been found by police. Russell Scozzi from West Cross, Swansea, was last seen in May 2002 but his remains were unearthed in a secluded woodland in Mumbles last month.
His family considered it to be unusual for him not to keep in regular touch with them but he was known to be a well-travelled man having visited the likes of Bali and Australia. He spoke both German and French to a fluent level. "He was my big brother who I always looked up to when I was growing up, and to lose him in this way has been devastating. Finally, we can be given the opportunity to grieve him properly.”
Top news stories today “The local residents of Waverley Drive supported officers throughout the course of our extensive and prolonged investigation of the scene and I wish to thank them for their support and patience.
