Mourners attend the funeral of two British-Israeli sisters, Maia and Rina Dee, at a cemetery in the Jewish settlement of Kfar Etzion in the West Bank. Hundreds of people have attended a funeral forLondon-born Rina Zakharan, 15, and Maia Zakharan, 20, were killed by Palestinian assailants on Friday after their car was attacked by Palestinian gunmen.The pair’s death came after Israel launched retaliatory air strikes on the Gaza Strip and in Lebanon.
Their father, Rabbi Leo Dee, who witnessed the shooting from a separate vehicle following behind and was unharmed. At the service, held today at a cemetery in the Jewish settlement of Kfar Etzion in the West Bank, the bodies were brought out, before being embraced by their father,Rabbi Leo Dee, who is originally from Radlett in the UK then fought back tears as described the pair as “beautiful and perfect”.He also spoke about Rina, saying: “You were such a great student. Such a great friend.
