Welshpool town centre was heaving with runners this morning, as around 650 runners - including one intrepid couple who came all the way from France - aimed for PBs in the annual town 10k.

Enthusiasts from all over the country flocked to the border town, along with some from even further afield. Andrew Davies took first place, with an impressive 34 minutes and 28 seconds. Picture by Phil Blagg Photography Alan said the event was a multi-generational celebration, with youngsters joining runners in their 80s for the challenge.
"To do it the last two years feels really good, we've been through a lot of pain, so to see it come back again feels quite sweet."
