A concert in New York City's Central Park had to be stopped because of the approaching severe weather
Hurricane Henri, which has strengthened from a tropical storm, is expected to hit New York's Long Island and southern parts of New England on Sunday. "We're going to see power outages, we're going to see downed trees, and even after the storm has passed, the threat of falling trees and limbs is still out there."
Some 60,000 people were thought to be attending the "homecoming" concert - a celebration of the city's return to hosting large events following the restrictions caused by the pandemic.

Watch: Tropical storm Henri likely to become hurricane before landfallTropical Storm Henri is expected to gain hurricane strength before making landfall.The storm is expected to make landfall in southern New England by late Sunday, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said.Henri is now about 345 miles south-southeast of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, and packing maximum sustained winds of 65mph, the Miami-based weather forecaster said.“Henri is moving toward the northwest near 7 mph. A turn toward the north is expected by tonight, and Henri is forecast to accelerate in that direction through early Sunday,” the NHC added.There are no evacuation orders in place for northeastern residents so far.
