Linda was described by her family as the 'warmest, loving person' 💔
Stephen Holden first met his future wife Linda at St Anne's Youth Club in Accrington when the pair were teenagers. They fell out of contact and a few years later Stephen was told Linda had tragically died.
Wilson disease is an inherited disorder in which excessive amounts of copper accumulate in the body, particularly in the liver, brain, and eyes. The signs and symptoms of Wilson disease usually first appear between the ages of six and 45, but they most often begin during the teenage years. At 7pm on January 10 of this year Stephen gave Linda, 65, her tablets as usual, at their home in Clayton-le-Moors, and she began to choke. He performed the Heimlich manoeuvre and she appeared to be comfortable but at around 9.50pm Stephen "realised something wasn't right" and found Linda unresponsive in their bed.
"We were all in complete shock. Dad was heartbroken. Not only has he lost his wife but his best friend. He dedicated himself to her."
