‘I am not a killer’ Doctor who helped 43 patients die reveals why he does it
When we meet over Zoom, he is clear from the outset he does not see himself as an advocate for assisted dying – he was never a campaigner for the law in Victoria to change before it eventually did in 2017.But having now helped to end the lives of 16 of his own patients and witnessing the deaths of 43 in total, Cameron quickly reveals his deep grasp of the choices his patients face and why what he does is not wrong.
