I went in there expecting a huge difference in price
With shoppers wanting to save money where they can, it's not surprising that many are keeping an eye out for offers.
Tesco has refuted the claims, along with Sainsbury's which was accused of doing the same. Both supermarkets say Which? failed to account for inflation in its price analysis and insisted they are following Trading Standards rules on promotions. I was quite shocked to find such a marginal difference. Of the 24 items I bought, seven were the same price, nine were cheaper at Tesco, but eight were actually cheaper at Asda - albeit two of the products were larger so I had to work out the comparable price.The items that were the exact same price included McCain Potato Smiles, Birds Eye Chicken Burgers, Chopped tomatoes, Pot Noodles, Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Snack Bars and Tetley Tea Bags.
