Bold Street Coffee's newest Liverpool venue isn't scrimping on flavour or aesthetics, with gorgeous food in a truly beautiful setting.
Bold Street Coffee The Plaza oozes chic and cool sophistication, with wooden bench seating juxtaposed with plush velvet bank seats and a mix of Scandinavian and mid-century wooden stools and chairs. The ceiling gives a nod to industrial styling with exposed piping and lighting rigs, though they've been painted in a calming pale peach colour that ensures it's not a stark contrast to the luxurious touches flooding the space.
I opted for smashed avocado , which is made up of smashed avocado , feta cheese, poached eggs, sesame and honey on toasted sourdough with red pepper coulis. The avocado was creamy and fresh, while the eggs were poached to perfection, with the yolk satisfyingly oozing out once they were cut into. My friends and colleagues each chose the chicken katsu club , which is made up of crispy fried chicken, curry sauce, pickled cabbage and lettuce on a choice of white or granary bread. They were big fans of this tasty sandwich, though the curry sauce was a little too mild for Phoebe Barton. Emily Sleight was impressed with the generous helping of chicken though less enthused with the price. She said: "I'd rather go to Greggs.
