The supermarket has issued a statement:
Since doing a big weekly shop at my local Asda I've been left 'out of pocket' as the supermarket keeps taking money from my bank account.
The first payment error of £66 was charged exactly a month afterwards on April 6, an issue we were assured was a 'one-off' problem with the system and that it would be debited back within 10 working days. It was, but each month the money continues to leave.Despite the first extra charge being deposited back a number of working days later, the same £66 left our bank account again on May, 5, two months after we first went into store to do our big food shop.
Each month the payment blunder takes £66 and by the time the money is put back into our account it is charged again a few days later. We've now spent £198 on a shop that initially only cost £66, losing £132 to the system error.
