I visited the creepy hospital for the first time ahead of its new Halloween attraction next month
Of course, the idea of ghosts is all subject to opinion, but I'm definitely open to exploring the topic. When I heard about the new Newsham Park Hospital Halloween event, a part of me was intrigued about the building itself.
I was lucky enough to tour the hospital before it was fully ready for the horror experience. Here's what I found. As soon as I stepped inside the hospital, I felt like I shouldn't have been in there. It had a real ominous atmosphere, and it was also deathly quiet. As we made our way through the twists and turns of the vast corridors, myself and my tour group all felt a sense of unease. Several old pieces of hospital equipment had been left there untouched, including an old electroconvulsive therapy machine and a stretcher.
Newsham Park Hospital felt like a maze, and even though it was daylight outside you still needed your phone torch to see where you were going. There were old ward signs stuck to the doors and unmoved chairs in the 'cinema room'.
