Tim Hortons has finally opened a restaurant in Lancashire, and Denise Evans was among the first people through the door
When a Tim Hortons opened near to where I used to live, some of my friends were in the queue hours before it opened. They'd impatiently waited months and the time had finally come to try the Canadian fast food chain right here in England - and get a free doughnut along the way.

An unexpected early Christmas gift.View gallery There was no sign of grease dripping out the bottom, making the bread soggy and the sweetness of the bacon married nicely with the herby sausage.
On top of the savoury food items, the coffeehouse, which originated in Vancouver in 1964 and is famed for its coffee, doughnuts and signature 'Tim Bits', which are essentially the 'middle bit' of a doughnut and are sold in boxes of 10, 20 or 50 so of course, I had to sample those, too.
