EastEnders actor Dean Gaffney has said that I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 'saved my life' after medical checks for the ITV show discovered polyps in his large intestine
Former EastEnders star Dean Gaffney has said that he “might not be here today” if it wasn’t for the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! medical team.
“There is no doubt I’m A Celeb and its medical team saved my life. I might not be here today if it wasn’t for them finding what they did,” he said. Dean’s operation came in 2020 after he was booked as one of 12 standby contestants who were lined up to enter Gwrych Castle in case one of the existing campmates dropped out of the show.
Following the health scare, Dean added that he is now hoping to raise awareness of bowel cancer and its symptoms - admitting that he had previously experienced blood in his stools but had put it down to his diet.
