It's completely free in store today so why not give it a go for yourself...
This Good Friday, sandwich giant Subway has teamed up with confectionery king Cadbury for an Easter-themed collaboration dubbed the SubMelt.
The store opened at 8am this morning and I found myself waiting outside completely on my own. I'd expected to be faced with a large queue, but it was just me and a sweet and excited college student named Daisy for the most part. Anticipation built during the wait, and despite my initial trepidation, I was genuinely keen to give it a go - especially when I saw the sandwich didn't look as bizarre as I'd expected it to.
The filling had congealed a little by the time I got home, so was no longer the lovely, melted, gooey affair I'd seen in store. It just tasted like chocolate spread. It wasn't offensive in any way, nor was it something I fell in love with. It was okay, but nothing to love or hate. If you're a fan of Creme Eggs, or chocolate spread, then you'll definitely like this. I think it's something that most definitely benefits from being eaten fresh though, so my advice would be not to travel with it.
