A horrifying story...
The dating site said they could not discuss another person’s profile with me but that they were following processes. And when I asked the police if they’d been in touch with the website, they said they couldn’t get details from them. This lack of cooperation just left me really frustrated.
The banks both said they had followed their processes and said I could take it up to the financial ombudsman, which I did. This has resulted in one bank repaying all my money plus 8% interest. This was an unexpected bonus that I really was not expecting because everyone said I would not get any money back. I am awaiting to hear about the other bank, as that claim went in after.
