I've always loved the idea of taking in the views of the city from the sky, but have felt too nervous to actually give it a go. I'm not scared of heights, but I am claustrophobic, so the idea of being stuck in a small space really made me anxious.
Adult admission to the wheel was £12, which you paid in a booth before entering. The staff were very helpful and explained the process, including the fact that there was a button you could press if you wanted the ride to stop. It wasn't long before the wheel set off, and I was starting to feel nervous as we made our way to the top. The journey is accompanied by a recording from a tour guide, who shares interesting facts about the city as you take it all in.
