Olivia spent months of suffering to find out what was going on with her body
Just a few months after DJing for thousands at Parklife, Olivia Lee was being stretchered out of her flat. The 24-year-old musician had made a name for herself in Manchester as a host, dancer and DJ and was an active member of the city's burgeoning creative scene.
“Every time someone asked me, it reminded me that this my whole entire reality and I can’t escape it. I went through a stage of trying to explain to a stage of being like ‘I actually don’t want to explain.’ “It was in January 2022 when I got carried out of my flat in a stretcher and got told I couldn’t go back there because it was a safeguarding risk,” she explained.
Looking back, Olivia says the signs were there about her condition. As a child she was a talented athlete and says she remembers the extreme pain her body would be under even then.
