BREAKING: Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) made an unannounced return to EastEnders.
The long-serving mainstay, who was last seen almost two years ago, made a surprise appearance during Monday’s Hiding in the bushes, Ian watched as Dot’s coffin was taken into the church, staying out of sight from his former neighbours and loved ones.The restaurateur’s moment of reflection was interrupted by a phone call from an unknown person, who he addressed as ‘love’.
‘Hello love’, he said, which confirms the mystery caller is someone he knows well. ‘Yes, I’m coming home’, he added, before leaving the cemetery and making his way back from where he came.What’s more, who was he on the phone to? Could it be his ex-wife Jane ?Viewers were hopeful that the two would reunite in the wake of Jane’s departure from the serial drama in 2017.
Ian, meanwhile, was last seen on our screens in January 2021, after he exited the Square following a controversial storyline that saw best mate Sharon Watts plot to kill him, with some assistance from Phil Mitchell .
