Cycle lanes, junctions and pedestrian crossings in Nottingham will be revamped as part if plans to create better connections to the wider cycle network, and provide a safer route for residents, businesses and schools.

Existing on-road cycle lanes will be replaced with better, safer segregated paths, and improvements will be made to junctions and pedestrian crossings. Nottingham City Council says the the latest design standards will be used for the revamp work. Traffic will continue to be able to travel in both directions during the works, and access for local residents and businesses will be maintained at all times.Councillor Angela Kandola, Nottingham City Council ’s portfolio holder for Transport said: “It’s exciting news that work will begin on this project following the positive consultation on the proposals last year.
