Chief Constable Simon Byrne left the meeting without taking questions from media, but later described the discussion as 'constructive'
An independent review is to be held to investigate data breaches within the PSNI in order to "rebuild trust and confidence" in the organisation.
Details released to the public included the surname and first initial of each employee, their rank or grade, where they are based, and the unit they work in. "It was a constructive meeting. I recognise the gravity of the situation and the challenges ahead. The independent review led by Assistant Commissioner Pete O’Doherty, City of London Police, will provide answers to questions.
The Policing Board meeting focused on the immediate personal impact of the breach on the safety, welfare, and human rights of all officers and staff affected on the immediate steps taken by the PSNI to address their concerns.
