A group representing Indi Gregory's parents say an Italian hospital has offered to treat the girl.

The parents of a critically-ill baby will return to the High Court after a campaign group said a hospital in Italy had offered to treat her.It comes after the Christian Legal Centre, which is representing Indi's parents, said the Italian hospital had agreed to treat her.Indi has mitochondrial disease and doctors at Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre have said they can do no more for her.

A barrister representing the NHS trust that runs the hospital has said the treatment Indi received caused pain and was futile.Tuesday's hearing has been listed before Mr Justice Peel after the Christian Legal Centre said the Bambino Gesù Paediatric Hospital in Rome had agreed to accept Indi for treatment.

In a statement released through the Christian Legal Centre, Mr Gregory said: "We have been given a real chance by the Bambino Gesù Paediatric Hospital for Indi to get the care she needs and to have a longer life. "We are amazed and truly grateful to the hospital and the Italian government, which has restored our faith in humanity.

"We are now begging doctors at the Queen's Medical Centre and the lawyers representing the trust to work with Indi and us to secure her transfer to Rome."Where gods and kings 'turn to stone'
