New events will be coming to the Renshaw Street venue

The Grade II listed building on Renshaw Street has been overhauled and The Dome has reopened after major refurbishments. It has been transformed to include a new sound system, updated lighting, venue amenities and a new air-conditioning system, as well as improved stage facilities.

A spokesperson for The Dome at Grand Central Hall said: "Taking on this legendary building was really important to us as a team - it is far too beautiful a space to not be available to music and entertainment fans. However, as a really experienced group of experts who put quality and standards at the heart of everything we do, it was absolutely vital that we put in place some major investment before reopening.

"Hosting artists like PAWSA, Paul Oakenfold and Roger Sanchez is a real coup for us. Again, the city has its own distinct timeline in terms of its contribution to all forms of dance music, and so artists on a world-class stage are aware of the city’s importance and its hugely energetic atmosphere. "Everyone here is really proud of what we have achieved so far. In a building that is now nearly 120 years old, it now plays host to the most contemporary live music and DJ events. It is the mix of both traditional and up-to-date, which our city is globally renowned for."View gallery Back in March last year, the Grand Central Hall closed over alleged £1.2m rent arrears.

Following plans to move into a newly built church in Liverpool city centre, the site on Renshaw Street was chosen and the chapel which already stood on it was demolished ready for the new development. The bodies which resided in the old chapel graveyard were exhumed and a monument erected in the centre of the newly sculpted gardens.
