BBC hopes a Laura Kuenssberg 'post-match analysis' podcast will give her the edge in a new Sunday TV politics battle with Sky News host Trevor Phillips

“At 8.30am viewers aren’t just looking for headline-seeking interviews. They want a deeper understanding of the issues,” he said. Kuenssberg and the Radio 4 Broadcasting House presenter Paddy O’Connell will join forces for a weekend extension ofThe pair will deliver “straight from the green room” insights into their respective Sunday morning programmes and “chew over the weekend’s news.”will preview the upcoming Sunday shows, making Newscast a seven day a-week brand, with the BBC committing to the extra episodes until at least the general election.
Phillips, 69, the first person of colour to become permanent host of a flagship Sunday politics show, said he would use his background and family experience to inform discussions on issues such as immigration.
