Inter Miami 'increasingly confident' of signing Lionel Messi following extensive talks
Inter Miami believe they are among the front runners to sign Lionel Messi from Paris Saint-Germain next summer., the MLS side now expect the Argentine star to join them and hope he will sign in the coming months with the 35-year-old’s contract set to expire at the end of next season.Beckham is the co-owner of Inter Miami and could be about to sign Messi
Talks have been ongoing for a couple of years with David Beckham’s co-owners, brothers Jorge and Jose Mas, in direct contact with the star’s father and agent, Jorge. No further talks are expected until after the World Cup, with Messi able to pen a pre-contract agreement with a foreign team from 1 January.Paris Saint-Germain are pushing hard to extend his contract with the club, while Barcelona have also been tipped to try and bring him back to the Nou Camp.
However, with Messi already owning a property in Miami and the city having close community links with South America, it seems a move to MLS could be on the cards. Despite his advancing years, Messi is still putting in stellar performances during his time in Paris after scoring 23 and providing 28 goals in 51 appearances for the Ligue 1 side.
