The Inverurie Academy sixth-year pupil explained that his late grandfather has been his inspiration and his dream is to fly a Boeing 787 Dreamliner across the Atlantic.
An Aberdeenshire schoolboy is flying high after gaining a private pilot licence before being able to drive a car.
George Walker Jnr, 17, said it must"seem bonkers" but is following his dream to become an airline pilot to fly passengers around the world. The Inverurie Academy sixth-year pupil explained that his late grandfather Bob Southall has been his inspiration. He told Sky News:"He was an RAF pilot. He flew transport planes in the RAF and I've always looked up to what he's done and thought 'maybe I can do that someday'."The teen received trial flights from his mum and dad for his 16th birthday and continued his training from there before passing earlier this month.
He noted:"I was allowed to fly solo through Inverness at 16 before I was even allowed to take my first driving lesson which seems weird."
