This oblong shape floating just millimeters from the top of the screen redefines iPhone iconography. Forget the static notch. The Dynamic Island lives up to its name by seemingly changing shape and utility based on the app being used, notifications being displayed, and gestures. It’s as if a physical screen element is physically expanding and contracting at will.
There is a chance of you smudging the selfie camera with all this touching, but we didn’t notice any smears when we used it. We’d say the phone’s oleophobic coating helps to keep the lens smudge-free. The 48MP sensor adds the ability to shoot full-resolution raw images, although you have to enable this option in the camera settings – you won’t see raw as an option in the camera app by default.
