Acclaimed Iranian santour player Behnam Pour will bring the delights of Persia to Belfast later this month with his intricate music, alongside poet Majid Forghani - and some surprises!
He's now been snapped up for a show of his own and he's bringing along not only his amazing music, but local Iranian poet Majid Forghani to read his poetry.Iranian Night will showcase Behnam's beautiful playing along with the words of Majid Forghani, and a few other surprises, bringing the delights of Persia to Belfast for one night only!
His beloved instrument once got lost in transit between Iran and Belfast, and he was finally reunited with it after the intervention of some friends here in Belfast, who are all looking forward to hearing him play again. He teaches music at the music conservatory and composes in folkloric and traditional Iranian music genres, collaborating with European musicians on several music projects and workshops.
